bullet 17 CSOs for BOCAR activities

Focusing on prevention interventions for high risk populations and people with disabilities, Round Eight targeted regions with high risk transmission areas and prevalence rates. The areas targeted included Kagera, Shinyanga, Mwanza, Mara, Iringa, Mbeya, Rukwa and Ruvuma. RFE management reviewed the 79 proposals out of which 21 CSOs were approved by the RFE Steering Committee in November 2010 for Pre-award assessments.
The Pre-award assessment was conducted early December 2010, specifically focusing on the organizations’ management, financial, and technical capacity to implement the grants. After the pre-award assessment visits, 17 organizations were trained in January 2011.

bullet Project Freshie takes off with BOCAR

Project Freshie has launched the new grants management system to the TUNAJALI and BOCAR/RFE Projects. The system is going to facilitate and manage the grants management process right from the stage of identification of an opportunity, preparation of the proposal, receipt of award, partner tracking, disbursement to partners and tracking accountabilities from the partners respectively thereby integrating the grants management and financial management.

The project is in its final stages with the system having already been designed, training completed and the final touches are now being made.
